Hello Kitty Towel Cake - by Venus
Hello my crafty friends! It's me Venus, posting once again. I really miss blogging whenever I get caught up in the "busy net" of my life. Oh, I'm reminding everyone about our MOTHER'S DAY GIVEAWAY! Check out the left side bar!
Do you want a party favor idea for your Hello Kitty themed party? Here's my fun post....
I created some Hello Kitty favor boxes with cake towels. Cuteness huh? These are really easy to make.
Supplies used:
Sizzix Hello Kitty Sitting large die
Sizzix 3-D roses di
cutting machine
Scor-pal
Special colored shimmery cardstocks, black cardstocks (I used 8.5"x11" sizes)
printed papers
glue and double sided tapes.
To make the box, I scored the 8.5"x11" cardstocks at 2.5 inches, three times horizontally, then three times vertically. Cut off the remaining part of the cardstock and reserved it for the handle. Then, cut out the part with the dotted lines shown in this illustration below. Next, fold ABA along the scored lines. Also fold the Cs along the scored lines.
Next is the handle: Cut a 1 inch strip out of the remaining cardstock. Adhere the edges of the strip on the outer side of the C using double sided tape.
To form the Box: Cut a bit of an angle along the inner edges of the As (see the photo above). Then place some double sided tapes on the inner sides of the As, then adhere it on the outer side of the C. (Oh I hope you got my instructions. LOL!)
To decorate the box: Cut a strip of printed paper and glue it around the box. The edges will be covered by the Hello Kitty Head.
Hello Kitty Head: Using the Sizzix HK die, I used white cardstock for the head, black cardstock
for the whiskers, and printed paper for the bow.
The Towel: I used 10"x16" sized terry cloth face towel. Just fold the long sides inwards, then fold again horizontally, then roll the towel! For toppings, I used the 3D roses, and set it on the towel with a craft glue that can be washed later on.
So, there you go! Now you have these cute party favors. Wasn't that easy? LOL! Hmmm, If ever I'll have a baby girl, a Hello Kitty themed party would definitely be on the top of my list. LOL!
Thank you for visiting!
